Stacy Koilor

I joined Brixmor two years ago as Vice President of Internal Audit. I was hired to develop the group internally, and partner with management to ensure that Company risks are appropriately identified and mitigated by controls. 

Many organizations like to make broad statements regarding diversity, equity and inclusion, but there’s a big difference between making the statement and embracing it. At Brixmor, it is embraced at the highest levels of leadership, and it is authentic. It’s not just words. It actually matters that everyone feels heard. That people in under-represented groups feel supported. That we all have a path forward. 

As an African American woman, Brixmor is the first time in my career that I walk in without feeling like I’m wearing a flag based on my color, race, or gender. I’m another person who can add value because of my skill set, color, race, and gender. Because I appreciate feeling this way, I want to ensure that others have a similar experience, which is why I joined our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Council.

Throughout the business community, there is a need for people who look like me to have a seat at the table, and for more diverse representation of all kinds, at all levels. By serving on the Council, I can help to ensure that this organization, which has been such a great home for me, will continue opening doors and providing support for all people.
