City Gear hosted an in-store event at their Western Hills Plaza store celebrating the local Cincinnati community. The event not only had music, giveaways, shoe customization and snacks, but City Gear, in partnership with Nike, donated $10k each to two local organizations: Based on a True Story and The Leave Your Mark Foundation. The Leave Your Mark Foundation, founded by Mark Dorris, helps empower youth being raised in a single parent household due to death or incarceration. Based on a True Story, founded by Brince Etter, is an organization that fills the Cincinnati neighborhood with a sense of togetherness, making an impact through truth speaking and spreading of self-knowledge.
