The redevelopment of Venice Village

Brixmor CEO Jim Taylor shares another example of Brixmor’s value-add investment strategy, clustering investments in vibrant markets while finding additional opportunities to put capital to work at compelling returns. Acquired in 2017, Venice Village extended our market reach by 50% in this high-growth market in SW Florida with median home values 60% higher than the national average. We partnered with Publix to teardown and rebuild a 48K square foot prototype store. Plus, we added a number of additional tenants, including Five Below and Crumbl Cookies, at rents with double-digit increases. As a result, we drove incremental returns, rate and occupancy.
