Learn about our clustering strategy in California

Brixmor CEO Jim Taylor travels to San Clemente, California in South Orange County to show the value created through clustering acquisitions, reinvestment and outparcel development on not one, but two shopping centers. In 2017, Brixmor acquired Plaza By The Sea, a grocery-anchored shopping center, adjacent to our dual grocery-anchored Ocean View Plaza right off Interstate 5. Both centers were renovated, and a value-enhancing multi-tenant outparcel building was added, bringing in the locally favored Handel’s Ice Cream and Better Buzz Coffee. As a result, Brixmor drove value in rate, occupancy, densification and reinvestment in these properties, truly driving them to be the center of the San Clemente community.
