Anita Tassviri

Since 2018, I have served as Vice President, Regional Legal Services for Brixmor Property Group. My professional path has not only been driven by an interest in the legal field, but also a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

As a member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Council, I am excited to collaborate with dedicated colleagues who share a common goal: to create a workplace where diverse voices are heard and valued, as well as implement initiatives that seek to dismantle barriers and cultivate an inclusive environment.

While it is natural to be drawn to people who are like us, this inclination can reinforce our existing viewpoints and cause us to miss opportunities to learn, grow and gain new perspectives. Some people refer to this as implicit bias, but I call it being human. The key to overcoming the barriers we unknowingly build around ourselves is to learn how to recognize them. Brixmor’s DEI Leadership Council and Employee Resource Group create meaningful opportunities for employees to learn from diverse perspectives, thus breaking down barriers and building trust with others.

Throughout my career, my greatest allies have not looked like me; however, they recognized my potential and provided me with opportunities to contribute and to thrive. Intentionally creating a space where diversity, equity and inclusion are celebrated helps all employees to flourish. Every single one of us.
